Wise Scouts bear gifts for patients at Christmas

Christmas Hospital Visit

Christmas Hospital Visit 2004

Scouts brought a little Christmas cheer to the patients staying at the Heronwood and Galleon NHS Unit in Hermon Hill, Wanstead recently when they visited the wards laden with Christmas gifts for all the patients.

The Scouts from the 11th Ilford North Scout Group based in Hurstleigh Gardens Clayhall, thought it would be a great idea if they could give presents to the patients spending this Christmas in hospital. Each Scout decided to buy a gift including chocolates and soaps and give them to someone who will not be able to spend Christmas at home.

Dean Milton, County Commissioner for Greater London North East Scouts commented. "Each year as Christmas approaches, Scouts all around our County decide how they can help those less fortunate than themselves. The Scouts of the 11th Ilford North thought it would be a great idea if they could try and bring a little happiness to those spending Christmas in the Heronwood and Galleon Unit in Wanstead." "All Scouts when they join make a commitment to 'help other people' and this just one of the many examples of Scouts helping others this Christmas."
