Last Saturday over 1200 Beavers, Cubs and Leaders all arrived at Hargreaves for a fun day of wild activities! All twelve Districts took part and linked with the Beaver section on running the bases, from riding the Bronco Bull to Panning for Gold, checking out the wild stock, even mistaking a 'Cow' for a horse in one instance! There were so many activities I did not find hoards of Cubs or Beavers in the stream!

We were visited by five Mayors and their escorts, one or two tried the slippery pole. We were supported by the St John’s Ambulance, ATC from Barking and Active Support, these all added to the fun and gave their help free. Many of our County Fellowship helped in one way or another making teas or entertaining the crowds.

Several hours later all walked wearily from Hargreaves but with great smiles on their faces including the leaders. One Cub from Hornchurch asked his leader if we could do this every week! A small Beaver replied to the question "what did you like the best?" "Can’t say, it was all good!" Memories have been made in just six short hours. Well done to all and a thank you form the Cub Section.
