Training - Funding

Funding for Training

The County was recently successful in obtaining funding from the Jack Petchey Foundation, to be used to help with the costs incurred by our Leaders in their training. You may apply for up to 50% of the cost of a course. The type of courses to be covered by this would be First Aid, British Canoe Union, BMC, RYA etc, which will directly help in offering a greater range of activities to our Young People.

Module One, Module Two and GCA Training will not be considered for funding as these are already subsidised.

Subject to money being available and your application being accepted, on completion of your course, you will receive the agreed amount. Please note that the total funding for this scheme is £2500 and once this money has been allocated, we will be unable to fund further courses. Applications will only be accepted for one course per person during the 12 months.

Please note that the maximum allocation from the fund is 50% of the total cost of the course (N.B You cannot apply for any other related costs). You will be notified in due course of whether you have been successful in obtaining funding. If you have been successful, on completion of your course and within 30 days, you must send a copy of your receipt showing payment for the course and certificate of attendance, you will be sent a cheque for the relevant amount. Payment cannot be guaranteed, if this deadline is not met.
