Role purpose
The Jack Petchey Achievement Awards Coordinator manages the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards scheme across Greater London North East Scouts.
You support Districts and Groups to recognise young people through the award scheme and help manage the administration that sits behind it. The role keeps the programme organised, accessible, and running smoothly across the County.
You act as the main point of contact for the scheme within GLNE and help volunteers understand how to use it to celebrate young people and support youth-led projects.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards scheme across GLNE Scouts.
Act as the County contact for the Jack Petchey Foundation.
Support Districts and Groups with nominations, grant use, and general queries about the scheme.
Maintain clear records of awards and related grant activity.
Use Microsoft 365 tools to organise communication, track awards, and store documents.
Communicate with District coordinators and other volunteers to keep the scheme active across the County.
Support the organisation of the annual Jack Petchey presentation evening and attend the event.
Provide updates or reports to the County Support Team Lead when required.
Skills and qualities
You do not need previous experience of the award scheme, but you should bring the following:
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Confidence using IT systems, particularly Microsoft 365.
Clear and friendly communication with volunteers across the County.
The ability to manage information and keep records up to date.
A collaborative approach and willingness to support others.
Time commitment
The role is flexible and designed to fit around other commitments.
Typical involvement includes:
Time during weekday evenings for communication and administration.
Occasional daytime tasks when required.
Attendance at the annual Jack Petchey presentation evening.
Support for the role
You will be supported by the County Support Team Lead and will work alongside District volunteers who help run the scheme locally.
