Time needed: 45-60 mins
Families trust us with the wellbeing of their children for 1-2 hours every week. We repay that trust by making sure that everyone involved in delivering the programme has an up-to-date knowledge of how we do that safely and securely.
Safety training need to be completed during your induction period (preferably before attending your first meeting)
This can be done online at scouts.org.uk as a 45 min eLearning module
That training needs to be refreshed every 3 years to make sure that you're aware on any changes to the rules in the meanwhile
How do I sign it off?
After watching / reading all of the content you'll be able to take a quiz at the end to produce a certificate. Send this (or a photo of it) to one of the following:
Your Group Scout Leader / Explorer Commissioner
Your Training Advisor
Can I use my work qualifications?
Sadly no. This training is specific to the Scouting rules for running safe activities.
