26th World Scout Jamboree

The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027. The UK Scout Association has a long history of sending large number of Units (36 young people, aged between 14 and 18, and four leaders divided into four patrols) as part of a UK Contingent to attend World Scout Jamborees. The units represent each of the UK’s Counties and regions.

Greater London North East has been allocated 2 full units. This will be the biggest contingent we have ever sent to a World Scout Jamboree. This will be made up of 8 leaders (consisting of 1 x Unit Leader, 1 x Deputy Unit Leader and 2 x Unit team members) for each unit and 72 young people, with 36 in each Unit.

What is a World Scout Jamboree ?

The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is an international gathering of Scouts and Guides from all around the world. The World Scout Jamboree is an opportunity for young people and adult volunteers to make international friendships with people from different cultures, and take part in a safe, inclusive and sustainable programme of activities Tens of thousands of Scouts from all over the world come together to camp outdoors and join in fun activities where they make new friends, learn about other cultures, and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime. This event is opened to Scout between the ages of 14 and 17 from all 176 Member Organizations.

Adult Leadership Roles

We are sure that a large number of adults will want to take part in this event as part of Unit Leadership team. Therefore, we have produced an application pack that contains role descriptions and person specifications to highlight what the role entails and the skills and experiences we are looking for. Please study these documents carefully before sending in your application.

The County team are keen that every adult in Greater London North East that wants to apply should do so, and we consider the Jamboree experience a development opportunity for adults as much as for young people.

Youth Applications
